Native American Student Support & Success Program (NASSSP)

What is NASSSP?
A tribal/indigenous community during your time at Cerro Coso Community College. “A home, away from home”. College support includes a safe place, free school supplies, textbook stipends, tribal workshops, free health supplies, internships, tribal pathways, meetings with tribal elders/leaders, and career opportunities.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to affirm and support the education and personal success of Native American students by providing an inclusive, non-judgmental environment. We aim to center the Indigenous experience, fostering new connections with people and developing native leaders. Our program is dedicated to creating a welcoming space for Indigenous students where they can thrive and give back to our community by creating generational wealth. Through our efforts, we strive to assist in the education and personal success of First Nation students, ensuring their achievements and contributions are celebrated and upheld.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to uplift our native community through education by establishing a dedicated Native/Indigenous space for all native people. We honor our ancestors through educational attainment and strive to meet students where they are, ensuring support is always accessible. By working with the mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional, we aim to create a holistic environment that nurtures the growth and success of every Indigenous student.
