Hello Coyote! Our Cerro Coso community understands that being on Academic/Progress Probation or Academic Disqualification can feel overwhelming, and some students may feel uncertain about their academic future. We want you to know that we are here every step of the way to support and help you.
Your first step to returning to Good Academic Standing starts with completing the Probation/Disqualification workshop. After this workshop, you will need to meet with one of our counselors. Depending on your probation status, the counselor will help you develop or update your education plan, or create a Student Success Contract with you. This can all be done in-person, by phone, or online. Students on Disqualification will need to complete a Petition for Readmission request form with a counselor.
Academic holds will be lifted after a student has successfully completed the workshop, met with a counselor, and signed any required contracts. Please contact Counseling at your assigned campus to make an appointment after you have completed the workshop.
Students who receive a hold for any of the following are required to complete the PDQ workshop:
- Academic Probation I
- Academic Probation II
- Progress Probation I
- Progress Probation II
- Academic Disqualification
Topics to be discussed:
- Why are you on probation/disqualification?
- How do you get off of probation?
- Strategies and study skills
- Campus resources
