Kern River Valley / Lake Isabella Valley

The Kern River Valley (KRV) office provides support for students taking online courses. These courses offer a flexible, interactive learning experience, allowing students to engage with faculty in a virtual classroom that fits their schedule. Students can also access computers at our office and take advantage of student support services to meet their personal and educational needs.
The college offers accredited online associate degrees, online certificates, and more than 160 courses each year. Prospective students are encouraged to take the Online Readiness Assessment in the Is Online Learning Really for You? section to help determine whether an online course would fit their lifestyle and needs.

GED Preparation Course (online) at KRV!
Prep for the GED Exam is an open enrollment course, which can be added any time in the semester, as late as week 10. The course is facilitated through online learning software called PLATO and is accessible entirely online. The course is a go-at-your-own-pace course. Study more, learn more, and pass the GED Exam. EDUC C005 - Preparation for the GED Exam is offered every Fall and Spring semester for FREE. In the KRV we offer free IN-PERSON expert support for GED preparation. Laptops and Hotspots
Cerro Coso Basic Needs offers laptop loans to students enrolled through our Laptop Lending Program. If you need a laptop, hotspot, and/or ;phone, please visit the Basic Needs page. This service is available at all the CC campuses. Once your registration is verified, you will be contacted with further instructions.
Basic Needs
Cerro Coso Community College Basic Needs Center strives to support students to be successful by ensuring their basic needs are met through resources, access, and advocacy. Basic needs include access to nutritious foods, mental and physical healthcare, technology, transportation, and more. Having one's basic needs met has a direct impact on the academic performance, mental health, physical health, and holistic well-being of our students.
The Lake Isabella Kern River Valley campus serves the communities of Lake Isabella, Kernville, Wofford Heights, and Weldon from facilities located in Lake Isabella, CA.
