BSN application process from Pre-Nursing to BSN

  1. Apply for admission to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor: apply.umhb.edu
    1. You will apply as a “Pre-Nursing” major
    2. When you apply as an undergraduate on an F-1 visa, you will apply with the “International” application on the application portal
  2. Complete all pre-requisites with an overall GPA and overall pre-requisite GPA of 3.0 or higher from an accredited college or university.
    1. Pre-requisites to the BSN - Here’s the list of our pre-requisites before you can apply for direct admission to the Nursing program (which must be complete within the mandatory minimum 46 hours of transferrable credit into the BSN program)
    2. Note: Chemistry OR Microbiology may be taken concurrently with Introductory Nursing courses, but must be completed prior to beginning N1 semester.
  3. Complete the NursingCAS application for the Scott & White School of Nursing in your final semester of pre-requisites
    1. This is a separate application to the Nursing program that you must complete along with the university application in item 1
    2. Fall (August) Priority Deadline – March 1
    3. Fall (August) Regular Deadline – July 31
    4. Spring (January) Priority Deadline – October 1
    5. Spring (January) Regular Deadline – November 30
  4. Take the TEAS Admissions Exam
    1. 65% overall, 65% in Math, and 65% in Reading
    2. Fall (August) Priority Deadline – March 1
    3. Fall (August) Regular Deadline – July 31
    4. Spring (January) Priority Deadline – October 1
    5. Spring (January) Regular Deadline – November 30
    6. Official scores must be sent directly by TEAS
    7. Students have two attempts to take the TEAS exam per application cycle
      1. Students must wait 30 days between attempts at the TEAS exam
