Campus Posting Procedures
The following posting regulations apply to all circulated/posted material at any Cerro Coso Community College Campus in accordance with Kern Community College District Board Policy Section 3D2 and ASCC Posting Procedures. Failure to comply with the following regulations will result in loss of circulation/posting privileges for the remaining semester.
General Public Information Boards
(For General Public Information and ASCC publicity)
- The Public Information Office is responsible for approving and posting materials on General Public Information Boards as defined below. Please submit posting materials to the Public Information Office in person.
- All materials must be signed and dated by the Public Information Office.
- Materials must be written in English or provide a complete English translation.
- All materials must be in good taste and aesthetically compatible with the CCCC environment.
- A maximum of 1 flyer is permitted on General Public Information Boards, on a space available, first‐come, first‐served basis.
- Nothing will be posted that obscures previously posted materials.
- Materials will be removed after the event.
- Material posted on public boards shall be appropriate for a college campus and shall not advertise activities or events which are illegal.
- Material shall include the sponsor of an activity or event.
Stake Posting
- Stake posting is only allowed for non‐college events and activities and is not allowed for off campus events and activities.
- Stake posting for outside organizations utilizing college facilities requires approval of the Public Information Office and is permitted only five days prior to the event and are limited to 5.
- Posters on stakes shall be no larger than 11”x17”.
- Stakes must be made of metal and can be purchased at a hardware store.
- Stakes are to be delivered to the Public Information Office and must be placed in approved locations by College staff.
- Stakes must be pre‐approved by the Public Information Office and removed by the day after the event.
- Stakes not removed by the above deadline become the property of the College.

Banners on Poles over Walkways
Four outdoor areas have been identified for the hanging of banners for approved clubs and college events. They are located on campus in the following areas: south side of Quad, in front of the gym, and on the east or west bridges.
Banners are hung on a first‐come, first‐served basis, although ASCC/Student Activities banners, and in some cases certain events or departments, will take precedence over club banners.
- Banners must not exceed 15’x 4.’
- Exceptions in size may be granted at the time of the reservation, if the club has old banners that exceed this size. However, no banner over 20’ will be approved and new banners should not be made to exceed 15’x 4.’
- Club and student activities banners are coordinated through the ASCC Office.
- The College Public Information Office will coordinate with the ASCC Office banner placement for other college program and department events.
- A banner may be hung for a period of no more than ten days at a time.

Violations of this policy could result in the suspension of posting privileges.
The Associated Students of Cerro Coso Community College and the Public Information Office work together to create a campus which supports the academic mission of the college, provide a campus culture conducive to learning, and are free from obscene materials and hostile workplace information.
Together we cultivate a campus atmosphere that supports a sustainable environment by means of reducing the amount of paper used for posting, eliminating use of products that have a negative impact on the environment, and encourage recycling of materials.
