President

Fatima Chavez Gomez
I want to be elected because I want to support students and do my best to make sure students feel comfortable in this learning institution. As well as be committed to participating in events that student government plans and make sure students are satisfied in participating in those events.– Fatima Chavez Gomez
Qualifications
For this position I am committed to learning from others as well as meeting new people and creating a connection with our college community. I was also a part of this position for this school year’s SGCC and have developed a passion for it by listening to what others have to say and being a part of a support system.

Wyatt Marvin
My name is Wyatt Marvin and I am attending my freshman year of college at Cerro Coso. I am currently working as a student worker in the Outreach department, and have been since the beginning of last semester. Working in Outreach has truly opened my eyes to what it looks like to help make college life better for our students, and how much of a difference it can make. It is safe to say I have developed a passion for helping students, and I think it's because I've realized how much more there is to it. Making a difference on campus does not just affect student life, but personal life as well.
It only makes sense for me to run as president of student government so I can work towards maximizing everyone's experience of being a Cerro Coso Coyote. Seeing how dramatically basic needs support can impact a student’s experience is what makes me want to run as president so we can start and achieve larger goals. I am in a special position because I am incorporated with both work/faculty as well as student life. This is vital for a position such as president because it makes the push for change much more possible and efficient. There is a reason that student government exists, and it is to provide that connection between students and the college institutions. In order for our student government to succeed, it needs a viable president.
I would like to make it clear that I am not asking for your vote just so that I benefit myself in becoming president, but rather to make it so that YOU have a voice.
I very much appreciate any and every one of your votes, thank you.– Wyatt Marvin
Qualifications
What best qualifies me for this office is being an active student worker for the Outreach department, along with being a full-time student. Being so involved in Outreach Services and student-life, I have a good basis of what it looks like to aid/benefit students. And because I am also a successful student, I provide a good connection between students and faculty which is vital for a position such as president. I tend to find myself attending almost every event that I can, even student government activities despite me not officially being part of it just yet. Because of this, I believe I will be an effective member as president with true passion behind my thoughts and actions.

Maxwell Pogge

I am committed to making changes if necessary and facilitating fun events for students when possible. Thank you.– Maxwell Pogge
Qualifications
I have good leadership skills, high sociability, and wish to make an active positive impact on Cerro Coso. I firmly believe that I can provide a useful input to meetings and organization. I have experience in community service clubs throughout high school, such as the Burroughs Interact club, or the Keystone Club for the Naval Base's youth center.
Vice President

Julianna Gorduyn
Hello fellow students,
I am running for Vice President of student government because I believe that our college can be an even better place than it already is. As Vice President, I want to work with the rest of the student government team to make positive changes that will benefit all of us.
First and foremost, I want to create more opportunities for student involvement and engagement. I believe that everyone deserves a chance to be heard and to have their ideas considered. I want to work to create more forums for students to share their thoughts and to have a say in the decision-making process.
Secondly, I want to focus on improving campus life for everyone. This means creating more social events, enhancing our campus facilities, and working with administration to address student needs. By creating a more inclusive and supportive community, we can foster a positive and welcoming environment for all.
Finally, I want to work on initiatives that will benefit our local community. We have a responsibility to be good citizens and to give back to the community that surrounds us. Whether it's through volunteering, fundraising, or advocacy, I believe that we can make a real difference in the lives of others.
As Vice President, I promise to be a champion for all students and to work tirelessly to make our college a better place. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to earn your vote.– Julianna Gorduyn
Qualifications
My qualifications for this position are that I have a proven track record of leadership in my school and community. This includes participation in clubs, organizations, or volunteer activities.
As the vice president, I am expected to communicate effectively with fellow students, faculty, and administration. I have experience in clearly articulating my ideas and listening actively to others. I am able to analyze problems, develop solutions, and work collaboratively with others to implement these solutions.
Being organized and detail-oriented is essential in the role of VP. I am able to keep track of deadlines, schedules, and important details related to student government events and initiatives.
I am able to work collaboratively, build consensus, and support my team members.
As the vice president I would work closely with the president and other members of the student government team. Most student governments require a minimum GPA for their officers. Right now I maintain a 4.0 which maintains a good academic standing so I am eligible for the position.
Finally, I have a genuine interest in serving as the vice president and a passion for making a positive impact on my school and community. I hope that my enthusiasm will help motivate others to get involved and support the initiatives that the SGCC can provide.
