Cerro Coso Community College Student Emma Dutton Awarded $10,000 Public Health Scholarship
On Thursday, December 12th, Cerro Coso Community College celebrated the remarkable achievement of Bishop student Emma Dutton, who was awarded a $10,000 scholarship to continue her studies in Public Health at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The scholarship, generously funded through a partnership between the Eastern Sierra Foundation and Southern California Edison, acknowledges Emma’s exemplary academic record and her dedication to making a positive impact in the field of community health.
The award ceremony was held at the Bishop Eastern Sierra Campus, where Emma was surrounded by family, friends, faculty, staff, and local community members who gathered to recognize her accomplishments and cheer her on as she embarks on the next chapter of her academic journey.
Emma shared her gratitude, saying, “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Eastern Sierra Foundation and Southern California Edison for creating the ESCC Transfer Scholarship. This support will allow me to continue my education at the University of Nevada, Reno, and pursue my dream of working in the health sciences. I am truly grateful for the opportunity this scholarship provides for students like me, who are committed to their goals.”
