Cerro Coso Community College is excited to announce Kim Metcalf as the new Executive Director of the Cerro Coso Community College Foundation. Kim has experience in the philanthropy and fundraising fields, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role.
Kim, a native of Ridgecrest, will oversee the Foundation’s operations, fundraising, and community engagement, forging a critical link between Cerro Coso and the various communities we serve. Those community connections will be vital to achieving the Foundation’s mission of supporting access, success, and excellence for students, faculty, and staff at Cerro Coso Community College.
Kim has previously served as a Foundation Director in the medical field and is excited to bring her talents to higher education. “I am so excited to start this new adventure and chapter of my life. Cerro Coso has been instrumental in launching so many academic careers over the fifty years and I feel so fortunate to be taking on this position now as we celebrate the past and look to the future of our college.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Kim Metcalf to the Cerro Coso team,” said Dr. Sean Hancock, President of Cerro Coso Community College. “Her drive to succeed and knowledge of what our communities want to see in higher education will give our Foundation the leadership it needs to support our campuses.”
Kim joins the Foundation at an important point in Cerro Coso’s history, as we prepare to celebrate the college’s 50th anniversary. The Foundation will be hosting and supporting anniversary celebrations throughout the next academic year, culminating in our 50th graduation ceremony in 2024.
The Cerro Coso Community College Foundation was formed in 1977. Since the 2018-2019 school year, the foundation has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships to Cerro Coso students. Those scholarships have helped open new opportunities for countless students, giving them the financial support they need to achieve their educational goals.
