COVID-19 Resources

The College is following the California Department of Public Health current guidelines and strongly recommends that all persons, regardless of vaccination status, continue to mask while in indoor public settings and businesses. Individuals are able to obtain masks at all of our locations as they have been a proven way to slow the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses.

For public health and reporting purposes, and in preparation should circumstances change, Cerro Coso Community College needs to continue to track positive COVID-19 cases for our staff and students. Therefore, we need any staff or students who test positive for COVID-19 to self-report. We can then investigate and communicate appropriately to our college community about any transmission concerns.

Please self-report any positive COVID-19 test through our online COVID-19 Positive Follow-Up Questionnaire.

We continue to employ the following COVID-19 mitigation strategies:

Masks are strongly recommended, not required indoors - Face masks will continue to be available to all staff and students.
Stay home when sick and get tested - If you are experiencing COVID Symptoms - get tested.
Hand Hygiene - Hand sanitizer will continue to be available; frequent hand washing is recommended.
Cleaning - College will continue to follow CDPH guidance on cleaning/sanitizing.
Ventilation - High-grade filters and HEPA filters will remain a standard in our district.

Response to a Positive COVID Test Report

Cerro Coso Community College Response to receiving a report of a positive COVID test.

Staff reviews information from the COVID-19 Positive Follow-Up Questionnaire. This information helps us to determine a number of case management criteria to guide our response.
COVID Case Management Staff sends several notifications according to the individual case details.
1. All reported cases generate an automatic email notification to the individual reporting a positive case from "ent-svc.teamsautomate@kccd.edu."
  1. The email provides instructions on Isolation, contact information and more.
2. All reported cases generate an additional notification from the COVID case management staff that notifies instructors, supervisors, and individual of the case status and when the individual is authorized to return to campus.
3. Reported Cases that were ON campus during the Infectious Period (2 days prior to the onset of symptoms or a positive test result if asymptomatic, CDPH) generate Potential Exposure email notifications.
  1. The Potential Exposure email notifications inform the intended recipients of the exposure timeline, locations, individual response options, and reporting contact information.
    1. Notifications are sent to campuses to notify staff via CC_ IWV, ESCC, KRV, ESK. (Individual Case information is private and kept anonymous)
    2. Notifications are sent to Students via email through Navigate. (Individual Case information is private and kept anonymous)
