How to Copy and Transfer User Voice Files in Dragon Naturally Speaking 7.0

Using the simple steps below, you can copy the voice files you have already trained on one computer and transfer them to another computer, eliminating the need to retrain Dragon every time you use a new computer.

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Open the Local Disk (C) Drive.
  3. Open the Program Files file.
  4. Open the file named Dragon.
  5. Open the file named Naturally Speaking.
  6. Open the file named Users.
  7. Locate the file named after your profile in Dragon.
  8. Select this file and copy it (press down "Ctrl" and "C" at the same time).
  9. Paste this file into a removable device, such as a flash drive. Or, burn the file onto a CD. A floppy disk is going to be too small to hold all the data this file contains.

Bring the removable device with you to the new computer and follow the directions below.

  1. Open the device that contains your user file.
  2. Select your user file.
  3. Copy your user file (press down "Ctrl" and "C" at the same time).
  4. Open My Computer.
  5. Open the Local Disk (C) Drive.
  6. Open the Program Files file.
  7. Open the file named Dragon.
  8. Open the file named Naturally Speaking.
  9. Open the file named Users.
  10. Paste your user file here (press down "Ctrl" and "V" at the same time).
  11. It will take a couple minutes to install the file.

You should now be able to open Dragon, as you usually would to use it, and select your user profile by name.
