Distance Learners
The Cerro Coso Community College Library, through its online, web-based Library Catalog, offers current students, faculty and staff from the college's four distant sites and online (within the college's service area), the opportunity to borrow books from the Cerro Coso Library collection. An online request form is available: Book Request Form
Reference, Reserve and Instructional Media materials are not available for checkout to students. Faculty should contact the Ridgecrest campus library to borrow Instructional Media materials for instruction. Faculty at distant sites, please make your request to borrow Instructional Media materials, at least 1 week in advance of when you'll need it for your class.
Rules and Procedures
Library print resources will be available for checkout and delivery only to currently enrolled Cerro Coso students, faculty and staff residing in the CCCC service area (near Kern River Valley, South Kern, Bishop, or Mammoth College Centers). This delivery service excludes students, faculty and staff residing in the general Indian Wells Valley and Searles Valley area as well as those out of the geographic areas served by the college or residing out of state. Verification of current status will be checked.
The Cerro Coso library book collection catalog is available online on the CCCC web page through Library Catalog. After determining which book(s) (limit of two) to request and borrow from the Cerro Coso Library only, the requestor must fill out and send the information by the "Book Request" form below. Upon receipt of the request, the requestor will be advised by e-mail of availability and if available, the books will be sent within two working days to the requested College Center.
Books will circulate for no longer than three weeks. Reference, Reserve and Instructional Media materials do not circulate. Renewals may be requested by e-mail to sarah.witkowski@cerrocoso.edu and are dependent upon whether the book has been requested for checkout by another person.
Failure to return borrowed library books when due will result in a "hold" and charges being placed on borrower records. Please make every effort to return books in a timely manner so that they are available to other users. Borrowers who lose, mark or damage borrowed books will be required to replace items at their own expense.
Please address all questions about these rules and procedures to sarah.witkowski@cerrocoso.edu.
