ESCC Bishop LRC

The Bishop Learning Resource Center (LRC) is located across from the Admissions and Records office, adjacent to the Computer Lab, on the Bishop campus.

Library

The Bishop campus library includes General and Subject Encyclopedias that support the college's academic programs as well as a comprehensive art book collection and a special collection of books about Eastern Sierra history and interests, including titles by local authors. Books at the Bishop campus are for Reference only (can not be checked out). Bishop students interested in checking out circulating books from the IWV campus, or other colleges should refer to the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery procedures.

While Bishop students have access to the Bishop library collection and resources, the Cerro Coso LRC Main page is a resource portal that contains links to a variety of encyclopedia and magazine research databases, web resources, and our automated book catalog, all of which can be accessed remotely (including from home computers) after inputting student ID #.

Research Services

ESCC Librarian, Nancy Williard, can assist with research. She can arrange for a targeted "Library Orientation/Research Instruction" session for classes and groups of students. She can also assist with introducing students to online library research databases available for free to Cerro Coso students.

To schedule a Library Orientation/Research Instruction presentation, faculty should contact ESCC Librarian, Nancy Williard at (760) 872-5303 or email nwilliard@cerrocoso.edu. She can visit classes on either campus and teach students the Information Competency skills crucial to academic success and lifelong learning.

Students are encouraged to use the "24/7 Chat" link on the LRC Main page for research assistance. This resource instantly connects users to a skilled research specialist any time of the day or night.
