Forestry and Outdoor Recreation Leadership

Cerro Coso's Sustainable Outdoor Recreation Leadership (SORL) and Forestry, Climate, and Conservation (FRCC) programs are not your average classroom experiences. They're pathways to careers outside the classroom and into the wild. Designed for high school grads, early adults, and working professionals alike, these hands-on programs combine field science, leadership, adventure, and public service.

Both programs stand out through their experiential learning model. Students earn credit while hiking, skiing, rock climbing, mapping wilderness zones, or building trails, and they leave with industry certifications and direct connections to career paths.
